Do you have questions about drywalls and drywall removal? Find here the best answers

Is drywall combustible or is it resistant to fire?

It depends on what material the drywall is made of. Drywall that is made of wood pulp is obviously combustible. Gypsum plaster drywalls, on the other hand, can serve as a form of passive fire protection item. They don’t serve as fuel to fire, but disintegrate into dust.

Can drywall be used for humid rooms like wash areas?

Regular drywall is not advisable for wash areas. However, there is a type of drywall called greenboard that is particularly applicable for washroom use. Greenboards are created with an oil-based additive on the green side. This oil-based additive prevents moisture from accumulating on the board.
